How I learned of Earthlings 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I learned of Earthlings a couple of years ago while conducting research for an assignment on environmental issues. The subject I chose was factory farming. I was already a long time vegetarian before watching the film, however I went vegan immediately after viewing the film and never looked back. Now every time people ask me why I am vegan, I ask them why they are not and suggest they view this film.

Tell me about. After viewing the film I concluded that all acts of violence are equally wrong and equally horrific. I wanted to jump through the screen to save each and every one of those being harmed. May they all rest in peace.

Resting in peace is a sad thought if you are getting slaughtered.

Problem is, the thought of one being a murderer attaches only to the one harming people. (for now)

I've had a talk with one slaughter house-worker and saw that, no matter what was the situation, worker had absolutely no moral restraints. Perhaps morality got eroded over time, perhaps these values were never acquired or learned.

I'd say that, generally, the erosion of our moral intuitions are at work there. Of course, this is not true for every case. There is enough evidence to suggest that many psycopaths simply are genetically determined or at least inclined to their psycopathy, for example by having a less-than-normally developed area of the brain associated with the capacity for empathy (sorry I forgot the specific name of the area ).

Btw, welcome to the board thak.

Veganism is simply the acknowledgment that a replaceable and fleeting pleasure isn\'t more valuable than someone\'s life and liberty.
Go Vegan!

psychopath's brains are 'wired' differently, this is prooven. I'm a forensic psychologist and have worked with many who have this lable psychopath - in every case i've seen they have attachment disorders. For some reason as young children they were unable to form an attachment to anyone - often because of neglect and abuse. There is some evidence that with the right care and physical and emotional stimulation children can recover from the damage/underdevelopment of their brains and grow into well-balanced adults. never give up on anyone i say.
